The rules for role playing are very basic and easy to follow.
1. Follow the general forum rules.
2. No cursing, it's not needed, so don't do it.
3. Don't avoid angst. Characters are never constantly happy and perfect. Everyone has faults, and your characters should as well. If in doubt, take the Mary-Sue Litmus Test You can measure out characters you've already made, or look it over for things to avoid when making a character.
4. In the real world people don't always get along, so they shouldn't in role playing either. Elves and Dwarfs for example: they clash in almost every way. Legolas and Gimili are an exception, not the general rule. Please keep things like this in mind as you role play. Your characters are allowed to doubt the actions and opinions of other characters.
5. Stick to the rules of Middle Earth. Always keep in mind the way they speak, for example: Someone would never say "Oh my gosh, did you see her dress? It looks like something from the disco era!" A very extreme example, but you get the picture Characters will not randomly have katanas and shuriken(adequite backstory required), they would not dress for battle in a dress, they would not have a magical device used to comunicate to those far away from them. Unless a roleplay is specifically about someone from the modern world being tossed into Middle Earth, stuff like this should not be seen.
6. Don't be afraid to talk to those you;re roleplaying with outside o the roleplay. Chances are, your roleplay will be more enjoyable if you both have a plan of where you want to take the story. if things are getting boring, message your partner(s) about taking a new direction.
7. In you roleplaying posts, stay in character the entire time. If you absolutly must say somethign out of character, it's best if you make it clear that you are doing so: ((OOC: Let's make a new topic for this next part.))
8. If there are any problems with other people, do not try and handle it yourself, contact an administrator. We will take care of it as soon as we can.
